Daily Prompt: Sad But True (A Conversation Between Friends)

Daily Prompt: Sad But True

Tell us about the harshest, most difficult to hear — but accurate — criticism you’ve ever gotten. Does it still apply?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us HARSH.

This is a quick story (flash fiction?) that came into my head after reading the prompt. It’s dialogue only – I thought I’d go for something different. Enjoy!

“A Conversation Between Friends”

“You know your relationships would probably last a lot longer if you chilled out a bit…”

“What?!? You’re supposed to be on my side!”

“I am but, you know… you can be a bit full on sometimes.”

“Full on! Full! On!”

“Well maybe that was the wrong wording to use…”

“No no no! Don’t take it back. You said it. Full! On!”

“You’re just really passionate, and you like things done your own way. I love you for it, and it’s how you’ve always been. But to others it can seem a bit…”

“Full on?”

“Yeh.”

“…… I know.”
