Daily Prompt – Guilt: A Poem for Christmas

Daily Prompt: The Guilt that Haunts Me

Share a time when you were overcome with guilt. What were the circumstances? How did you overcome you guilt?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us REFLECTIVE.

When it comes to presents
How do you decide?
Who you will splash out for
And who will slip your mind?

Who deserves a present?
Your father and your mother
What about your siblings?
Your sisters and your brothers

Were they good all year?
Will they return the favour?
What will their gift be?
Chocolate? Shoes? A shaver?

If you missed one person
Would it make you sad?
As they hand your present over
I bet you’ll feel so bad

Christmas time, a time for sharing
A time for family, friends and caring..

So who have you failed to remember?
The 25th of this December?
